There’s no written contract for residential or small commercial customers, though you do enter an agreement when choosing a fixed-rate plan or OnePrice Plan that requires you to pay an early termination fee if you cancel before your term of service has ended—detailed in our Terms and Conditions. Some large business customers are required to sign a contract when they receive customized pricing.

Yes. Gas South offers our BridgePlan program as an alternative to the Regulated Provider's Program, and to bring choice and savings to credit-challenged natural gas customers.
There are no fees for customers switching their natural gas service to Gas South from another natural gas provider, although Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) does charge a switch fee of $7.50 for customers switching marketers more than once in a 12-month period. For customers turning on service in their name, there is a connection fee of up to $75.

Switch to Gas South

Switching natural gas providers in Georgia typically takes 10 to 40 days. Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) processes all market switch requests, and delays may occur.

If you sign up for service by the 18th day of the month, your switch will typically take effect on the 1st of the following month.

If you sign up for service after the 18th day of the month, your switch may not take effect until the 1st of the subsequent month.

For example, a switch request received and successfully processed by AGL on the January 10 would will take effect on Februay 1. But a switch request received and successfully processed by AGL on January 23 would take effect on March 1.

No. You don't need to contact your current provider, and your natural gas service will not be interrupted. Switching simply involves an administrative change, rather than a physical change. You can sign up for service online or by calling us at 877-332-5442 (for residential service) or 877-270-3790(for business service).
There are no switch fees from Gas South. An early cancellation fee by your current provider may apply if you don't complete the full term of a fixed rate plan. You should review the Terms and Conditions of your current provider agreement to determine if a cancellation fee applies. Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) charges a switch fee of $7.50 for customers switching marketers more than once in a 12-month period.

Stop or Cancel Service
A $150 early contract cancellation fee may apply, but know that you’ll never be charged if you transfer or move to a home where Gas South does not provide service.
Yes. You would then be considered a “seasonal” customer. A seasonal reconnection fee (up to $105) will be charged for voluntarily disconnecting and reconnecting service at the same home within a 12-month period. When you are ready to re-establish your service, contact Gas South online or call us at 877-472-4932 (residential) or 888-290-4727(business).

Early Cancellation Fee
A $150 early cancellation fee applies to all residential rate plans that are terminated before the expiration date. Rest assured, you will never be charged if you transfer your service or move to a home where Gas South does not provide service.

Large business customers should call 866-549-7903.

Our fixed-rate plans have a cancellation fee if you do not complete the full term of your plan; it is $150 for residential customers and a minimum of $300 for business customers. There are no additional charges from Atlanta Gas Light to terminate service.
